Soft, hydronic heating

Premium gasoline/diesel fired heat & hot water

Timberline is specifically designed to provide consistent heat and hot water, even in extreme temperatures. The system is programmed to efficiently manage energy using the Autoterm Binar Compact Heater, which is optimized for seamless use whether you’re traveling in high altitudes or at sea levels.

Comfortable heat is provided by automated air handlers that run softer or harder depending on what your climate demands. Should you want a quick boost of heat, a supplemental 120V heating element is also available when your motorhome is plugged into shore power. Set your desired temperature and enjoy your adventure with peace of mind, knowing that warmth and hot water will be waiting for you when you get back.

Timberline 1.0

Specifically designed for class B and C motorhomes

Timberline 1.0 is Elwell’s original premium heat and hot water system, specifically developed to provide reliable heating for adventurers who want to take their vans and motorhomes to climb new heights and explore further off grid.

The system is programmed to efficiently manage energy using the Autoterm Binar Compact Heater, which is optimized for seamless use both in high altitudes or at sea levels. Comfortable heat is provided by automated air handlers that run softer or harder depending on what your climate demands.

Should you want a quick boost of heat, a supplemental 120V heating element is also available when your motorhome is plugged into shore power. Simply set your desired temperature before you go out, and enjoy your adventure with peace of mind, knowing that warmth and hot water will be waiting for you when you get back.

How Timberline 1.0 functions

Timberline heat and hot water is generated by the Autoterm Binar D5, a powerful yet quiet diesel or gasoline heating unit made for the most adverse conditions. A heated glycol solution is circulated through the interior of the living space through quiet air handlers that provide soft, radiant heat.

The glycol is also circulated through an instantaneous water heat exchanger, which produces instant hot water for showers and kitchen use.

By using the diesel or gasoline burner coupled with the 120V electric element support, Timberline provides efficient comfort whether dry camping or plugged into shore power.

When the RV is cold, the fans run on high until the interior temperature starts to reach its target. The fans then automatically slow down and remain on low levels, maintaining the comfort levels inside.

How to operate the Timberline system

The Timberline touchscreen panel located inside your RV gives you full command of your interior climate with intuitive controls. It allows you to adjust how quickly you want the heat to distribute and whether you prefer to utilize your fuel source or electric only, along with many more options to regulate the heating to your liking.

See the video below, or check out the Timberline user manual to find a comprehensive walk-through of all the system functions.

Timberline 2.0

More power for bigger applications.

Class C and B+ approved.

The Timberline 2.0 system includes the core features of the original Timberline system, plus several new and unique components. The 2.0 system is equipped to run with your choice of either the standard Binar 5 burner, or the larger Binar 10 burner. With this larger burner, Timberline 2.0 is an excellent choice for both Class C and B+ motorhomes, as the Binar 10 provides enough power to heat even bigger coaches with Timberline’s standard of luxurious comfort and warmth.

Single Module Installation

One of the biggest differences of the Timberline 2.0 design is the single module installation. With this module, Timberline 2.0 features smart energy management which prioritizes electric for both heat and hot water. It has a bigger footprint, but allows for even simpler installation as it contains the system’s main components all in one place.

Timberline 2.0 system operations

Timberline 2.0 features a two-loop, and up to five-zone plumbing system. This gives you even more control over your heater usage by affording the option to heat different parts of your coach only at certain times.

The 2.0 plumbing system conveniently includes automatic summer and winter operations which provides a seamless year-round comfort experience.

A simpler, larger 2.0 touch screen display

How heating zones work:

Each of the five zone has their own separate heating controls that can be accessed by tapping the zone buttons at the bottom of the display screen. Once a zone is selected, simply tap the heater button and the zone off/on button to activate the heater. You may then use the day and night sliders to determine your preferred temperature for that zone.

As with the original Timberline system, Timberline 2.0’s fans automatically adjust depending on the call for heat. Should you want to control the fan speed yourself, a manual fan option is also available for each heating zone.

How to use supplemental electrical heat:

While the heater is running, you have the option to simultaneously use supplemental electric heat by selecting the Element button. The 1500 watt 120V electrical element will activate and provide supplemental heat to the coolant.

When both the Heater and Element buttons are selected, the system automatically prioritizes using heat from the electric element. If there is greater heating demand on the system the burner will engage and heat the glycol.

Electric is only available when connected to shore power, unless otherwise specified.
